Movement begins to make Edward McKeown pay for his crimes as a priest

It is very disconcerting to live 30 miles from a town where a priest pedophile raped boys for years and got away with it. In fact most people in the parish don't know the truth at all ...and don't want to know.

The current bishop of the Diocese of Knoxville does not know and does not care. Is it any wonder that the younger priests of the Diocese are completely in the dark about the abuse that occurred to the very parishioners they are assigned to help. There is a group though who are not going to get away with hiding. Who are they?

The older priests of the diocese.  The ones who were here.   They know. They kept silent. They are as guilty of conspiracy as any other group of criminals. Who are these older priests? I'll let you know.

And while you will hear that the diocese of Knoxville did not exist back then, don't be fooled.  This area was called diocese of Nashville at that time, it is true.  However, those priests are still here.  This area is home to them and they did not leave despite the name change to "Diocese of Knoxville."  And they let a pedophile priest prey on the young boys of this area they call home.

Disgraceful.  And not to remain hidden forever.

Don't let Edward McKeown out of jail

The following is a post that I made on August 8, 2014 on another blog. It is more relavent today than ever.  I am going to repost it now.

I get worried that Edward McKeown will walk the streets again. He should never get out of jail.

Father Edward McKeown abused across Middle and East Tennessee. The bishop and many, many priests knew. McKeown left the priesthood on March 1, 1989 without anyone knowing how many little boys he had raped. The church never told the Catholics what McKeown had done. They let statutes of limitation run and sent their "problem" back out into the community at large to abuse more boys.

McKeown is not the only criminal here. The bishop and any priest who knew what McKeown had done should be sitting in the prison cell with him. That won't happen but it should.

Don't let McKeown ever get parole. Give the rape victims of McKeown at least that small amount of justice.
